Goin’ Back to Cali: New Year's

A guy’s got to be somewhere for New Year’s. Many of my New York friends asked if I didn’t miss the snow. On New Year’s Day, New York City was buried in drifts under one of the worst blizzards of the past 10 years.

I admit I did enjoy the beauty of a true New York blizzard. I took pictures of the one in 1995 when I was there. The city was all hushed in snow, with people walking around bundled up in warm clothes like a Currier and Ives print.

But I somehow managed to make it through without the snow.

Maybe next year I’ll pick different scenery.
