MrJumbos New York: Y2K New YearsFor better or for worse, I was stuck in New York City for New Years Eve 2000. I didnt have any special desire to stand in Times Square and watch the ball drop with millions of other people (New York is legendary for New Years Eve cold snaps). On the other hand, as long as I was here, and working only a few blocks away, I figured I might as well grab a few pictures. This is that famous ball, the one that drops at midnight to mark the New Year. They had redone it with all kinds of fancy crystal and halogen lights for the special celebration. The scene from a few blocks north of Times Square, looking south.
