Wyoming '99: MondayAfter we finished our hike at Vedauwoo, we headed up to the Ames monument, a few miles away across the highway and up a dirt road, to meet up with the rest of the gang. The irony is that after spending all this time and effort to memorialize the Ames brothers, they moved the railroad and folded the town of Sherman, so now the monument stands alone in the wind, way out on the plains. You can see it from I-80, if you know where to look. When you do get out there, though, it's kinda a fun megalith to play around, as Chris and Lauren are doing here.
